Inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical on the environment published in 2015, Laudato Si’ Ministries serves the Diocese of Joliet through initiatives around the care for creation and climate crisis. Through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching, the ministry offers educational and pastoral support, community building, and sustainable food sources for the poor and vulnerable.

By integrating key elements of the diocese alongside the natural history of the state of Illinois, a new mark was created to symbolize the new chapter in environmental stewardship.
